Should Your Family Talk to a Therapist After a Death?
Therapy isn’t always the fast track to recovery, but if you’re not sure how to talk to your kid and don’t want to do so alone, then you may want to seek out a good kid therapist to assist. These therapists are especially equipped to talk to children and help them understand what’s happening.
Finding the right therapist should be based on experience in the field that you want. In this case, talking to the therapist beforehand about their experience with grieving, and possibly more specific to who died, such as an immediate parent’s passing, will be helpful in selecting the right person.
