Con #4: Possibility Of No Children The Same Age
While I mentioned earlier how a variety of ages can be a positive thing, it can also be hard if a child is significantly younger or older than the majority of the children. Every different age group of children have different routines (nap times, eating times, toileting vs. diapering, etc.) and different play skills. It can be very difficult to include a child who has difficulty keeping up with the others, needs a nap when the other don’t, etc. Children who are surrounded by others significantly older or younger may have problems creating connections or strong relationships with others (again just something to consider and not always the case).
