Con #2: Not Required To Be An RECE
While there are home daycare providers who are registered early childhood educators (RECEs), they are not required to be RECEs. They are not required to have their CPR certification or any child development knowledge. While these are not necessary to be a good caregiver, it is definitely helpful when planning age appropriate activities, guiding children’s behaviour and being prepared for an emergency.
