Con #1: Most Expensive/ Long Waitlist

Centres heed a lot more costs than a home daycare (more staff, sick days, vacation days, rent, budget for toys and professional development). They also usually feed kids 1-2 snacks and a lunch each day. Therefore, you will be paying more for childcare in a centre. Also, most well sought out centres have wait lists that can be quite lengthy. You may have to put your child on the list for the infant room well before you are ready to even think about daycare. You may be lucky and get a spot, however, if the spot opens up before you are ready to go back to work, you’ll have to pay for it whether you are ready to take the spot right away or not.
