Pro #5: Access to Supports

If your child is not in a childcare centre and you notice they are struggling with their speech, sensory issues, behaviour challenges, or other developmental issues, the supports available are accompanied by long wait lists. RECEs are trained in administering ASQs (ages and stages questionnaires) and assessing if they are in need of support in the classroom. The day care centres work closely with speech therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists and social emotional consultants. Centres make it very easy to gain supports for the centre and your child. Also, once the supports are set in place, the RECEs are able to learn new skills to improve the care for not only your child, but the other children in the classroom.
