Pro #2: Surrounded By Children Of A Similar Age
While being in a group with mixed age groups has its benefits, being in a group with children of similar ages is very beneficial as well. For one, it is easier for the early childhood educators (ECEs) to prepare age appropriate activities when all the children are of a similar age. Also, in classrooms with all young children, centres have child sized furniture where everything is safe for the children to explore. Also, similar age groups allows children to build relationships with others, play at their own level and follow a daily routine that is age appropriate AND developmentally appropriate.
