Let’s face it, when a baby is born everything revolves around mom and baby. While I completely agree they both need a lot of attention and care, sometimes dads can feel a little left out. Dad’s need time with their baby to bond with them. In many situations, the mother stays home with the baby and cares for his needs, breast feeds him, is encouraged to do skin to skin. Dad tends to run errands and help mom where needed around the house and go to work. In a situation where a baby is exclusively breastfed, dad may struggle to find ways to really bond with his baby. Here are a few ways for dad to really bond with his baby.
#1. Skin To Skin
Skin to skin is encouraged and easier when you are half naked and breastfeeding around the clock. It definitely is not encouraged as much for fathers to be skin to skin with their baby, but you don’t need to have breasts or milk to do skin to skin. Mom or dad; skin to skin is beneficial and a great way to bond with your baby. So take off your shirt, sit down, relax and hold your baby close.
