Being a parent isn’t as “natural” as it seems
I’m not denying that moms don’t have “mommy instinct” and having a baby isn’t a beautiful part of human nature. I am saying: Parenting is TOUGH and confusing and really just a beautiful shit show. We go to baby classes and read books but the baby comes and we have NO CLUE what to do next.
Labor: exhausting, painful, challenging.
Breastfeeding: challenging, exhausting, painful, HUGE learning curve.
You see a pattern happening? The point is: don’t feel like a failure or a horrible parent because you can’t figure out why your baby is still crying after trying everything you can think of. Just love that tiny human with all your heart and try your best to do what is right for you and your family. None of us really know what we are doing, some of us are just better at faking it.
