#6- Have A Solid Routine

This isn’t to say that you have to do the same things everyday and you can never stray. Never be too rigid or strict with routines. However, children thrive on consistency. They like to know what to expect; it helps them feel safe. Most days you should be eating and sleeping around the same times. With routine, children know what to expect and tend to cooperate more. If they have a time of day they watch TV, they don’t nag all day long and look forward to that quiet time. It also helps when leaving the house. Children can be more independent if they know the routine: bathroom break, coats, shoes, hats… etc. A solid routine helps everyone stay organized and the day run a whole lot smoother.
