#3- Take The Night Shift

This one is a but more difficult when a family chooses to exclusively breastfeed, but there are ways to help mom out. If the baby has a hard time settling after a feed in the night, allow mom to go back to sleep and take over settling the baby. If baby needs to be changed, get up and help out: go get baby, change him and bring him to mom. Also, it won’t be long before the baby will not need to feed every time he wakes. This is your cue- help find ways to settle baby without milk. Obviously, if the baby is bottle fed, there is no reason why mom should have to wake to do all the feedings. Getting up with your baby at night will help you build a strong bond with him, and it will also help you and your partner build a stronger relationship.
