#8- Hormones Are Crazy

After giving birth, women experience dramatic changes in their hormone levels, which drastically affect their mood. You may experience extreme highs and extreme lows all in a few minutes. Be prepared to break out into tears and not know why. However, if the sadness does not subside it is important to seek help. Postpartum depression is very real and treatable (and most definitely NOT a sign of weakness). Taking care of an infant is hard work and all consuming, but moms need to take care of themselves as well. Get as much sleep as possible, eat healthy meals, ask for help when needed. Other things you may experience with hormone changes: hot and cold flashes, night sweats and/ or hair loss.
